I am a beginner and I used this paint on my 1957 Chevy truck. I don’t recommend this. I was told by a PPG rep that this does not like to be sanded. That’s true. After a month of curing, I tried to buff and polish it - that failed. I tried to color sand it. That failed too. The shine never came back. I had a few spots where it laid down flawlessly, but as a beginner, I need to correct my mistakes because I still get orange peel. With a base coat/clear coat system such as PPG’s Omni, I could’ve fixed my mistakes. I likely wasted about $700 in paint only needing to buy another product on top of that.

These clearcoats delaminate very frequently

High epoxy clears. You can mix with reducer into a bottle, shake it while until the solvents. Evaporate you can stick it in cold water or hot water., to make a flow exactly where you want that makes a difference between a certified technician and a person like you....

Very disappointed in the elimination of the chips. The camera is off 70-80% of the time and constantly spending too much time tinting. Very counterproductive if you ask me.

Any large shop should have a dedicated compressor and air system for the paint shop so this won't be an issue.

All about tip sizes, doesn't give much in the way of examples for when/what products to use the various tip sizes. Kinda dropped the ball on this one.

I would like to know what clears Charley is using in his shop.

why would clear crystalize after about 6 months like a shattered window.. saw that .. could have been trapped solvent from too thick an application or maybe materials incompatibility but I don't think so on the incompatibility Thanks... Also I have a vehicle that is stored outside. Its a classic car and needs and overall. unfortunately I just can't dedicate consecutive hours to it so I need something to spray on it after I do the bodywork but before final sanding and base/clear.. what paint can I use? I really don't want to spray a bunch of rattle can garbage on it like ezcoat and I don't want to spend $500 a gallon for something but I need to protect it from rusting

clear doesn't spray like it did 25 years ago. it use to e so easy, now it seems much harder.
